Our Projects

• No Voice Unheard was founded by the authors of the ground-breaking book,
  One at a Time: A Week in an American Animal Shelter. Although commercial publsihers told us the book was not "marketable," it is now in its third printing, with nearly 15,000 copies reaching the public, opening their minds and hearts to the plight of homeless animals.
  
  We have donated thousands of copies to public and college libraries, and shelters in regions of the country where the homeless animal problem is most severe. We offer deep discounts to shelters, rescue, and educational organizations to make this resource affordable - hundreds of such groups across the country use it in their educational and outreach programs. We also offer a speical Giving Package, 5 books at a discount, for individuals who wish to educate their friends, families, and communities.
  
  One at a Time has been the subject of countless book reviews and media stories, further educating the general public about this nation's homeless animal tragedy and what everyone can do to help end it.

• Thought to Exist in the Wild: Awakening from the Nightmare of Zoos will be published in June, 2007, is another another unique, beautiful, and powerful voice on behalf of the animals - those captive in zoos.  The book is a passionate and unflinching examination of zoos in our society.

  Combining elegant, stunning photos with a deep and probing essay, this book presents a critical look at these institutions, the individual animals who live in them, and, of oursevles. 

• We are in the creative stages of a book portraying, in stories and photos, farmed animals, entitled Ninety Five. (Switching to a vegetarian diet saves approximately 95 animals each year.)

• We also assist with benefit & educational events, most recently, a concert/reception with musician Bonnie Raitt, benefiting non-profit organizations Barrios Unidos, nationally-recoganized for its work to prevent and curtail violence amongst youths, and the Dolores Huerta Foundation, an organization advocating for and organizing disadvantaged communities.
